Indications/Uses
Ozid Duodenal & gastric ulcer, erosive/ulcerative reflux esophagitis. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Ozid IV Alternative to oral therapy for: Duodenal & gastric ulcer, reflux oesophagitis, GERD/GORD, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, GI bleeding & stress ulcer.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Ozid: Cap Duodenal ulcer 20 mg once daily for 2-4 wk. Gastric ulcer, erosive/ulcerative reflux esophagitis 20 mg for 4 wk which may be increased to 40 mg once daily. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome 60 mg once daily. Severe cases: 20-120 mg once or twice daily. Ozid IV: Powd for inj Recommended dose: 40 mg once daily. GI bleeding & stress ulcer 80 mg by IV bolus/continuous drip infusion in 0.9% NaCl 8 mg/hr for 72 hr.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately before a meal.
Special Precautions
Exclude possibility of malignancy. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Skin rash, urticaria, pruritus, dry mouth, nausea, constipation & flatulence.
Drug Interactions
Prolongs elimination of diazepam, warfarin & phenytoin.
